Is this normal for someone to say?!?

My sister is pregnant and just had a sonogram to find out the baby's gender. It is a boy. When my other sister's husband found out about it he asked if there were pictures and "jokingly" said "I wanna see the !" Is that bizarre or just a joke I am reading too much into?! How do I approach this? It made me a little weirded out.
