Monitor making popping/crackling/static sound?

whether its on, off, standby or whatever, my acer LCD monitor always makes an audible popping sound every once in awhile, like a 30 second to 10 min time frame. The timing varies and the sound sometimes is faint and sounds more like a creaking but sometimes its like a full out pop that sounds like static is goin on inside or something is flicking the monitor. i just got this monitor less than a month ago and now the bestbuy 14 return policy is up and i really dont wanna have to deal with acer support on this... what's causing this and is there anything i can do to fix this???
