Clicking noise when i come to a stop...?

There is a clicking noise coming from the rear axle in my 2001 Ford Expedition V8 eddie bauer signature that seems to mainly happen when i'm coming to a stop... it seems to only be audible at very slow speeds between 1 and 8 miles per hour varying with the speed.... i was thinking brakes or axle.... suggestions?
