Where do third world nations obtain their national pride?

Most of these third world countries have abundant natural resources that are the source of the successful economic growth of those so called "top cl nations." And if so be the case, the top nations struggle for the natural resources of these poverty stricken nations brings about internal conflict, political instability, even civil war .As a result, those top cl nations will sell guns and armored vehicles to this poor nation to kill each other. Then, how do you expect any functional political or infrastructural system under this condition. If these people somehow find a way to kindle a small fire of national pride, it's because they have no other option than to face the reality.
